Projects Completed

Since our incorporation in 1995, the FBA has received over $300,000 in donations and grants allowing us to accomplish the following projects:

  • Comprehensive Community Work Plan
  • New concrete sidewalks with decorative patterns
  • Decorative Stamped asphalt crosswalks (2)
  • Mid block Choker
  • Street trees (58)
  • Pedestrian street lights (36)
  • Decorative tree grates (40)
  • Fairfax Village Median Gateway

Projects In-Progress

An increased, dedicated membership will help us accomplish many other goals leading towards our vision, such as:

  • Landscaping and irrigation in the two asphalt covered medians north of Melrose
  • 50 additional shade trees along Fairfax Avenue between Melrose and Willoughby
  • Additional street cleaning including regular, periodic pressure washing
  • The purchase of additional and improved trash receptacles and increased trash pickup
  • Private security patrols
  • Shared parking and / or parking structure
  • Hosting public forums on Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness
  • Outreach campaign, including an annual street fair/music/film festival designed to make Fairfax Village more pedestrian friendly as well as a shopping and entertainment destination
